Eagle Village
The first step toward stable, independent, and culturally supportive housing.
About Eagle Village.
In November 2019, Chief Seattle Club opened our first housing project, the first modular housing project in King County: Eagle Village. Formerly an unused parking lot in the industrial area just south of downtown Seattle, the property is now a village of shipping containers that have been converted into 24 rooms and 5 tiny homes for our relatives.
Currently, Eagle Village houses about 40 residents, many of whom are our elders. We offer holistic, wrap-around services, including 24/7 staff support, an edible community garden, Cowlitz Health visits, and culturally appropriate support groups.
Finding permanent housing can take up to two years.
Eagle Village originated as temporary bridge housing to more permanent homes. However, many of our members have become permanent residents; this is not temporary housing for them. While we work to find lasting homes for many of our relatives, we strive to make Eagle Village the best it can be, no matter how long the stay.
